Induction Hardening

Wear-Resistant Surfaces. Tough Core. Longer life time.

Do you need to harden a specific area or the entire surface of your component?

Induction hardening combines rapid, localized heating with immediate quenching to produce a precisely controlled case depth, minimal distortion and a wear-resistant surface. The result is stronger, more durable components with an extended service life and consistent, repeatable quality.

The Question

How Does Induction Hardening Work?

Induction hardening combines localized heating, precise process control and immediate quenching to produce a hard, wear-resistant surface with minimal distortion.

  • Component Positioning

The component is accurately positioned inside or adjacent to the induction coil.
  • Localized Induction Heating

A high-frequency magnetic field generates heat in the selected surface area of the component.
  • Immediate Quenching

The heated surface is immediately quenched using water or a polymer solution.
  • Formation of the Hardened Layer

A hard, wear-resistant surface layer is created while the core remains tough and ductile.

The Question

Benefits

Why Choose Induction Hardening?

Precise Heat Input

Only the required area is heated. This minimizes overall heat input, reduces distortion and preserves the properties of the surrounding material.

Repeatable Quality

Precise temperature monitoring and control ensure consistent hardening results and reliable, repeatable quality.

Easy to Automate

Induction hardening is suitable for manual workstations, semi-automated systems and high-volume production lines.

Energy Efficient

Heat is generated directly within the component, exactly where it is needed, minimizing energy consumption.

Flexible and Versatile

Suitable for a wide range of materials, component geometries and production volumes.
